Spring Training

The 2010 Spring Training season is almost here, and there is all kinds of suspense for fans of all MLB teams. Spring Training is when you get to see what kind of MLB team your club will be fielding, and see if any of the youngsters have a chance of making a name for themselves.
The 2010 Spring Training season looks like it could be one of the most interesting in quite some time, as a number of baseball teams are looking drastically different than they did last year. The 2009 free-agent market was one of the deepest in years, and with clubs being careful about spending money, there are still a few free agents left on the market. Its going to be awesome to watch these clubs try to figure out what team they are fielding, and I personally can’t wait to see what big stars come out of spring training with a full-time MLB position job.
Of course the New York Yankees are going to be a force this year, so whoever they are playing better bring their A game. Will the Yankees tactic of buying all the available free-agent pay off again? How that team performs in spring training will tell us quite a bit.
The New York Mets have also made some noise during the off-season, with some big signings that aim to finally get this talented team into the MLB playoffs. The major problem with last year’s team was the bullpen, and now it looks like the team has a number of talented arms that should help the Metropolitans get over the hump.
It will be interesting to see how the Tampa Bay Rays compete a year removed from their unexpected run into the World Series. The secret is out, and now MLB clubs are going to be coming after them full force. It will be good to see what Joe Maddon and the team put together during Spring Training in preparation of what lies ahead. The Tampa Bay Rays got a new Spring Training facility in Charlotte Sports Park in Port Charlotte, Fla so we will see if that helps them sell any spring trainign tickets.
All in all the 2010 Spring Training season should be an interesting one to watch, and its going to be great to see the new looks of many of baseball teams. If you are able to make it to a game or two, I highly suggest getting Spring Training tickets, because there is nothing quite like seeing your club take shape during march.
